Cavity Closers are a key component of any cavity wall, helping reduce condensation, cold bridging and mould growth. Cavity Closers are predominantly used to close openings, such as doors and windows, in external wall structures. The Grayson Cavity Closer range offers thermal, acoustic and fire protection depending on your requirements.
Durable and resistant to decay, Grayson Cavity Closers provide an effective damp proof coursing (DPC) thermal barrier between any frame, jamb and sill openings and the internal and external leaves of the cavity wall.
They effectively help to combat problems such as internal condensation, mould growth and cold bridging, where internal heat escapes externally.

Quick and simple to install, Grayson Cavity Closers can be cut down to the required size using basic hand tools and the range of insulation materials available across Grayson’s range won’t create any harmful particles.
Grayson’s rigid cavity closer profile construction is compatible with all frame and sill positions and materials. It conveniently allows for installation at both the first fix (from foundation to internal plastering) and second fix (completion of the project after plastering) stages.
Grayson offer two ranges of standard Cavity Closers from stock:
- Non-Fire-Rated Cold Bridging Range
- Fire-Rated Fire Product Range
Grayson’s Non Fire Rated range come in three styles and cover cavities up to and including 150mm. All are compliant with Building Regulation Approved Documents C, L1 and L2 and satisfies BRE document ‘Thermal Insulation: avoiding risks’.
Our Fire Rated range also comes in three styles and cover cavities up to and including 300mm. Our G30 range are independently tested by Warrington Fire to achieve 30 minutes fire-rating and minimum 15 minutes insulation and our G60 range are independently tested by Warrington Fire to achieve 60 minutes fire-rating and minimum 15 minutes insulation.
