The control of condensation to within safe limits is an important consideration in the design and construction of buildings.
If left unmanaged, vapour produced by building occupants can have a detrimental effect upon the wooden and metal elements of a building and can reduce the thermal effectiveness of insulating materials.
Here at Graysons, we supply the complete range of Visqueen vapour control layers, which can be installed to effectively restrict the passage of warm, moist air within floor, wall, and roof constructions.
A versatile range
The Visqueen vapour control range can be installed across a range of buildings depending on the humidity levels and condensation risk.
Vapour Check –
- Green tinted, semi-transparent polyethylene vapour control layer
- For use in low-risk buildings that are subjected to humidity levels less than 50% at 15°C (BS 5250: 2011 class 1 condition)
- Includes warehouses, industrial units, and storage areas
Vapour Barrier –
- Green tinted, semi-transparent polyethylene vapour control layer
- For use in medium-risk buildings that are subjected to humidity levels less than 60% at 20°C (BS 5250: 2011 class 2 and 3 condition)
- Includes offices and low occupancy domestic dwellings
High Performance Vapour Barrier –
- Tough multi-layer reinforced HDPE membrane with an aluminium foil
- For use in high-risk buildings subject to humidity levels more than 60% at 20°C (BS 5250: 2011 class 4 and 5 condition)
- Includes high-occupancy domestic dwellings, sports halls, and swimming pools
Fully Bonded Vapour Barrier –
- Foil-lined modified bitumen rubber membrane with a self-adhesive coating
- For high-risk buildings that require a bonded barrier
The benefits of quality vapour control
- Versatile application – can be used within floor, wall, and roof constructions
