Description
The Ancon HRT4 is a high-performance wall tie suitable for cavities from 50mm to 175mm. Designed for both external walls of domestic housed up to 10m high and internal separating (part) walls, it provides reliable structural support and excellent acoustic performance. Compatible with traditional and thin-joint blockwork, the HRT4 simplifies construction while ensuring compliance with approved robust details. As a Type 4 Tie, the Ancon HRT4 is suitable or use in external walls of domestic houses up to 10m in height.
Cavity Range – The Ancon HRT4 is suitable for wall cavities ranging from 50 mm to 175 mm, providing flexibility to accommodate a wide variety of domestic wall constructions. This range ensures that the tie can be used in both narrow and deep cavity walls without compromising performance or structural integrity.
External Wall Use – As a Type 4 tie, the HRT4 is approved for use in external walls of domestic houses up to 10 m in height. This makes it ideal for typical two- to three-storey residential buildings, while compliance with geographical restrictions ensures the tie performs effectively under regional building conditions and wind loads.
Separating Walls – Functioning as a Type A tie, the HRT4 is suitable for internal separating (party) walls of any height. It provides robust lateral restraint and ensures the wall complies with approved robust details, delivering both structural stability and acoustic separation in multi-dwelling developments.
Performance – Independently tested, the HRT4 achieves a dynamic stiffness of less than 4.8 MN/m³ when installed at a standard 2.5 ties/m² spacing. This makes it suitable for sound-insulated internal walls, helping meet Building Regulation requirements for noise control and improving occupant comfort in attached dwellings.
Compatibility – The tie is compatible with all approved robust details for cavity masonry separating walls. It works with both traditional mortar joints and thin-joint blockwork, allowing flexibility in wall design and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Thin-Joint Construction – Specifically suitable for thin-joint construction with 3 mm joints and cavities up to 150 mm, the HRT4 eliminates the need for pre-completion sound testing when used in approved designs. This simplifies the construction process while maintaining acoustic performance and structural integrity.
Versatility – The HRT4 can be used across a wide range of applications, from external walls to internal party walls. Its tested performance and compatibility with various masonry types make it a reliable, long-lasting solution for domestic construction projects, providing both structural support and noise control.
